Formed holes
PlasticWeld’s proprietary HPS series induction eye formers are used to make precisely-shaped, tight-tolerance formed holes in tubes. Specially designed cutting tools form precisely shaped eyes with smooth, flash-free edges. Single or multiple holes can be formed in one cycle.

• Tube size range 6 fr (0.078” OD) and higher
• Maximum formed hole size: for round holes, maximum diameter is equal to the tube ID. For oblong holes, maximum size of width is equal to the tube ID, max size of the length is approximately 3 X tube ID.
• Polymers: PVC, PTFE, PA, PP, PE, PEEK, EVA, PU

 

Drilled holes
PlasticWeld also offers custom-designed equipment to drill holes in catheter tubes. A guided high-speed drill accurately and cleanly cuts holes in your specified locations. Multiple holes can be drilled in your tubing by using our proprietary indexing system. Manual and high volume production versions are available.

PlasticWeld also offers custom-designed equipment to skive holes in side walls of your catheter tube. Guided punches are precision-ground to accurately and cleanly skive holes in your specified locations. Multiple holes can be skived at one time.
